TANF - Cash Assistance
A TTSM eligible family will reside in Marin or Sonoma County and shall include all natural children, step-children, adopted children, and or relative children under the age of 18 years old, living with and eligible adult where at least one family member is enrolled in a Federally Recognized Tribe or is descended from a person who is listed on any California Indian judgment roll.. In addition all families must meet one of the following:
  1. Indian/non Indian single parent with eligible children
  2. Indian mother expecting and in the third trimester of pregnancy
  3. Indian/non-Indian two parent families with eligible children
  4. Indian needy or non -needy caretaker who is related by blood adoption or marriage to an eligible child.
For Financial assistance the family must qualify with a total income under 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and for prevention services the family must qualify with a total income under 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Cash Assistance for needy families under 150% of the federal poverty guidelines
    • Month to Month financial assistance
    • Support Services for families engaged in approved work activities
  • Prevention Services for needy families under 300% of the federal poverty guidelines
    • Diversion Assistance
  • A four month program designed to address a specific non-reoccurring set of needs so as to prevent a family from needing government assistance
  • Emergency Assistance
    • A onetime specific payment to address an immediate family need.
